Cross Road Center Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy outlines Cross Road Center (" we ", " our " or " the Company ") practices with respect to information collected from users who access our website at www.CrossRoadCenter.net (" Site "), or otherwise share personal information with us (collectively: " Users ").

YOUR PRIVACY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US.

For the purpose of this document, the term "Personal Information" or "Personally Identifiable Information" means information which is individually identifiable information, namely information that identifies an individual or may with reasonable effort identify an individual.

PLEASE NOTE: In general, Cross Road Center DOES NOT attempt to collect personally identifiable information about you or from you through this website or any of its components except what is temporarily necessary to connect you to our website and deliver its information to you, or to receive a contact from you if you should choose to use an email link, contact form, survey response form or other component of the website intended for communication between the website and a user of the site.

We DO NOT recommend that you share  through this website or any of its components your full name or ANY personal information other than contact information that does not itself contain your full name (or any nickname, online avatar name, gamer name, social media user name, or other online "handle" by which you are well-known).

INSTEAD, we recommend any email link, contact form, survey response form or other similar contact device you may find on this site only be used to make an initial contact and request that a counselor, life coach, or educational instructor at Cross Road Center call you by phone to answer your questions or consult with you about your situation and whether our services may be of help to you.

If you were a former client engaged in substance abuse counseling services at Cross Road Center, your enrollment as a client, your use of any counseling services, and your current or past status as a client are all "legally privileged information" that is protected by a number of  federal laws, including HIPAA and other federal regulations, by several state laws, as well as by the professional ethics every professional substance abuse counselor in Michigan must abide by.

Because, unfortunately, the kinds of problems my former counseling clients are working to resolve in their ongoing recovery often carry a strong social disapproval or stigma with them, and because making such past personal issues known can have very significant negative impact on some clients, I believe it is very important to also extend all of that same privacy to anyone who uses my addiction recovery peer coaching services, or seeks wellness coaching and educational services regarding long term reovery after the health effects of past substance abuse, or even contacts me to just inquire about those services.

For life coaching clients looking for help to clarify and attain goals in other areas, be advised that coaching services outside of that given by licensed healthcare professionals is generally not covered by the HIPAA laws. If you have concerns about confidentiality in life coaching, we can address those in your initial free consultation. Using private, locked online meetings can provide a very high degree of privacy for any coaching sessions when that is needed or desired.

Please be advised that this website is hosted by a professional hosting service on servers or computers that are not on site at Cross Road Center's physical location. In addition, it is the company policy at Cross Road Center that no computer or server on site which stores any personially identifiable information about any current or past client, or any person who has inquired about possibly engaging my services in the future, shall be allowed to remain connected to this website for long periods of time in one session, or longer than is necessary to add or remove information, images or other elements of the website itself, or to verify or test content on the site, or to send or receive short messages intended only to make a brief contact to request a meeting, change an appointment, request a telephone contact or to request that information be sent or received by postal mail.

Precautions are maintained on site to protect all computers on the internal company network from all attempts at unauthorized outside contacts or intrusion attempts of any kind and at any time, in order to maintain maximum privacy of all personally identifiable information about our clients or prospective clients at all times. Be advised that my services are provided from a commercial office building that I own and manage, and that my residence is also on site. Therefore, my personal attention to data security is always engaged to protect your privacy as much as reasonably possible.

We and our trusted partners use cookies and other technologies in our related services, including when you visit our Site or access our services.

A "cookie" is a small piece of information that a website assigns to your device while you are viewing a website. Cookies are very helpful and can be used for various different purposes. These purposes include allowing you to navigate between pages efficiently, enable automatic activation of certain features, remembering your preferences and making the interaction between you and our Services quicker and easier. c. Generally, Cross Road Center does not intend to make use of 'persistent cookies' which are read only by the Site, saved on your computer for a fixed period and are not deleted when the browser is closed. Such cookies are used on many websites where the site owner needs to know who you are for repeat visits, for example to store your preferences for the next sign-in.

At this time, Cross Road Center does not plan to offer any services on its site which would require persistent cookies. In addition, we intend to work with our site's hosting service to have our site remain as compatible as possible with common forms of ad blockers and popup blockers which users may be using when accessing our website. Use of script libraries (Google Web Fonts)

Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser's cache to avoid multiple loading. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or does not allow access, content will be displayed in a default font.
  • Calling script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. In theory, it is possible - but currently also unclear whether and, if so, for what purposes - that operators of corresponding libraries collect data.

  • The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy .
